For self-serve, metered-billing SaaS. Auto-allow refunds to $250, generous goodwill credit ceiling for routine overage waivers.
For product-led-growth SaaS with self-serve sign-up and usage-based billing (e.g. Vercel, OpenAI, Twilio shape). Hard cash refunds are rare and stay escalated, but goodwill credits are issued frequently by the success/support team to absorb metered-overage surprises, so the goodwill ceiling is intentionally higher than the seat-based SaaS template. The dispute window is moderate at 48 hours because usage-billing chargebacks usually trace back to a clear invoice line item.
These thresholds apply to refunds and any category that does not have its own override. Amounts are in USD cents in the underlying rule and rendered in USD here.
fraudulentWhen a category has its own ceiling, the typed evaluator consults the override instead of the top-level. Categories without an override fall back to the thresholds above.
